City on Fire

The city, the city, the city’s on fire!

50 Fireworks

Not literally, thank goodness. With the clash of Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos closing in, the streets are getting more crowded and the sky is bursting with colors. If you missed the kick-off fireworks just like myself, you will have another chance to gaze at another beautiful view just like the one above once more on Friday February 5th, at 10:00 PM right after watching One Republic perform for free.

We can assure you that the concert is not going to be just another Nickelback Experience.

Nickelback Free Concert

One Republic is not the only major name that Super Bowl Host Committee has listed on their free concerts list. Guess who else is playing for free?

One of my biggest influences on motivating myself to learn how to play piano as a proud 90’s kid, ranked in at #80 of the Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists, Alicia Keys!

If you like R&B and have never heard of Alicia Keys, then you will not want to miss this opportunity.

To see the full list of free concerts, please check out the official website here. Also, see the map below for some key locations and click on it for more information.

50 Cent & Chris Brown – Saturday, February 6th 10:00 PM at Origin Nightclub | Some tickets still available here.

Had enough of the events yet? We’re not there yet!

Oh, Campus Life!

Starting with Office of Career Planning’s traditional Career Meet-up event tomorrow at 4:30 PM, we will have an eventful two months at Golden Gate University! There are numerous ways for you to stay up to date on the events and gatherings that take place on our campus:

  1. Make sure to subscribe GGU Social at the green section below.
  2. Make sure to download the GGU App and keep checking the student feed. You can click here to download it for your iOS device, and here to download it on your Android device.
  3. Make sure to check the GGU Events Calendar on the website.

Thankathon

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving 2.0–minus the turkey–at Golden Gate University. Join the community in showing appreciation to our more-than-2,000 alumni and friends who have helped funding campus renovations, library upgrades, student scholarships, and redesigned smart classrooms & lecture. And just in case if you’re wondering… Yes, free pizza is real.

The donations are not the only things that the GGU Community appreciates. Diversity is one of many other things that the community appreciates–and it’s also a word you’re going to be seeing a lot of throughout February, because it’s the month of diversity! If you’re curious about the Diversity Month at Golden Gate University and want to know more, make sure to read the earlier blog post here.

GGU Social ❤ SGA

Some of you might be confusing GGU Social with Student Government Association (SGA) however, you’d be surprised to know these two names exist for different purposes and goals. SGA represents the various interest groups of GGU and consists of officially elected student representatives. GGU Social on the other hand, is the university’s brand new entertainment blog and portal associated with SGA.

*Pay this link a visit if you would like to know more about SGA.

One thing GGU Social and SGA have in common is that we both are here to voice your opinions while listening to your feedback to make your overall experience at Golden Gate University better. The curious monkey peeking out below wants to hear your feedback to assist SGA with their services. A little bird told me that they are also going to be giving away three $50 gift cards for three of the lucky participants. Make sure to share your feedback with them.SGA Survey GGUSOCIAL
