From Persia, With Love
Persian Professionals Club hosted an aromatic Persian New Year party last Monday. The officers of the club kindly asked me to thank all of those who were able to attend to their party, taste their delicious Koobideh Kebab and celebrate Nowruz with them!
For those who couldn’t attend to the party: the collage above should give you a hint of what you missed. Make sure to follow our posts to stay up to date on the club exclusive parties and future events!
In last week’s #SocialWednesday, we started featuring Golden Gate University’s student clubs. If you’ve missed last week’s post and would like to learn about our accounting club Chi Pi Alpha, click here to read the post. In this week’s post, we’re excited to be introducing you to our our Veterans Club.
GGU Social presents…
Did you know that approximately %10 of GGU’s student population consists of veterans? We’re proud of every single one of our veterans, and we support them with all our hearts.
Our Veterans Club is very active, they have multiple pages and groups on various social media sites. Here’s what the president of Golden Gate University’s Veterans Club, Daniel Tripp has to deliver to us:
“Our club was formed to connect Golden Gate University student veterans with our student veterans both on campus and online.
Our goal is to bring veteran students together and to provide a voice for the student veterans community at Golden Gate University. We are looking for additional club members who wan to connect with other student veterans and who want to get involved in Veterans affairs activities. Additionally, occasionally opportunities for student Veterans arise and this information is posted on our Facebook page, e-mailed out through our contact list and and posted on our group contact pages. These opportunities include possible internships, veterans affairs information, and veterans training opportunities. If you are looking to join our group or want to be added to our contact list, please send us an email at: email@example.com or contact us at the Golden Gate University Veterans Club Facebook page and the Golden Gate University Student Veterans LinkedIn Group.”
A few events before we leave…
As we mentioned in last week’s post, Latinos in Finance is having a networking event at Press Club on Thursday, March 24th. Latinos in Finance is an organization that fosters growth opportunities, business relationships, and entry into finance by hosting events where we share our knowledge and networks. Click here for further information about the event.
On Friday, March 25th, one of our student clubs, IRC (Investment Research Club) will be hosting the last part of their Payments Industry Series workshop. If you missed their earlier workshops and would like to attend to this one, you can join their google group here to take a look at their recaps, and videos.
This 2-hour workshop will start at 5:30PM on Friday, March 25th and will be taking place in Room 5200.
We hope you enjoyed reading this week’s #SocialWednesday post. If you missed last Sunday’s fun Five Fact post, make sure to read it here. In the next edition of #SocialWednesday, we will be introducing you to another student club.
As we stated in our earlier posts, featuring our student clubs is our first step forward in following our slogan, “By students, for students.” We are getting ready to announce a work-in-progress project which will require your engagement and bring a competitive fun to Golden Gate University’s San Francisco Campus! Keep your eyes on #SocialWednesday for updates!
Please let us know what you think of GGU Social so far, and submit the topics and features you would like us to include by e-mailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org! You can also contribute in this 2-question survey to let us know a little bit about your thoughts.
