Danger: April Fools
It’s that time again. Yup, you guessed it, April 1st is right around the corner. If you have a mysterious box that’s sitting on your desk that you weren’t expecting to receive, be careful, you might get punched in the face.
By the way, remember that one time when Google caught us off guard with their so-called “Nose” project?!
GGU Social presents…
The Bay Area is well known with its diversity of many different dimensions. Age, ethnicity, religion, physical & mental ability, skin color, gender, sexual orientation… and all of the rest that you can name. Our city is very appreciative of diversity, however, some of us believe that we all owe humanity to appreciate it even more, and show the world how strong love can be. The L.O.V.E. Club is here for doing exactly that!
The L.O.V.E. Club is Golden Gate University’s most recent draft to its student clubs roster. If you’re wondering what L.O.V.E. stands for, here’s what the club’s president Hiroyuki Enokida has to say:
I am Hiro, the president of the L.O.V.E. club at GGU.
Our club is for not only LGBT people but also straight people. Although some people have different sexual preferences, they are all the same, they are all human beings. A lot of LGBT people have fought and are still fighting against discrimination by various strata of society today. We want to speak to this discrimination and help spread awareness.
The club would welcome everyone, all sexual orientations. The club would not only be socially oriented but also academically, this would allow all members to create social networks beyond boundaries of sexual preference or orientation. The club believes that LOVE overcomes all kinds of issues and brings peace not only to GGU but also to our lives.
As I mentioned at the beginning, the club hasn’t had any activity for the students yet. However, I and the club officers have discussed about participating SF PRIDE PARADE this year, it will be held in June. I already registered to the organization as a marching contingent. And we want to encourage GGU students to join us and march together.
The students can reach us at email@example.com.
Thank you very much for reading, and I hope you join and march with us !”
Next week at GGU
If you’re participating in this year’s Graduate Commencement Ceremony, make sure to attend to the Grad Fair that’s going to take place at the 6th Floor Auditorium on April 8th. The event will start at 2:30 PM, and there will be a cocktail reception after the fair. Above are the services that will be offered for our proud graduates-to-be!
Office of Career Planning’s traditional monthly Career Meetup event will be taking place on April 7, and it will be purely focused on Marketing!
We hope you enjoyed reading this week’s #SocialWednesday post. If you missed last Sunday’s Pinpoint post on the Palace of Fine Arts, make sure to read it here.
As we stated in our earlier posts, featuring our student clubs is our first step forward in following our slogan, “By students, for students.” We are getting ready to announce a work-in-progress project which will require your engagement and bring a competitive fun to Golden Gate University’s San Francisco Campus! Keep your eyes on #SocialWednesday for updates!
Please let us know what you think of GGU Social so far, and submit the topics and features you would like us to include by e-mailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org! You can also contribute in this 2-question survey to let us know a little bit about your thoughts.
