In this week’s #SocialWednesday, we would like to tell you how proud we are of our friends in the L.O.V.E. Club! Since they announced the launch of their club, they have been actively promoting their cause. With their work and dedication, we are pleased to announce that Golden Gate University will be participating in this year’s SF Pride Parade!
What is SF Pride you ask?
Here’s how they describe their 46 years strong celebration parade on their very own website:
“With over 200 parade contingents and exhibitors, and more than twenty community-run stages and venues, the San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade is the largest gathering of the LGBT community and allies in the nation.
Celebrations begin on a Saturday in Civic Center Plaza in downtown San Francisco the last full weekend of June each year. The Parade, which takes place the Sunday morning of the event, kicks off from Beale Street along Market and ends at Market and 8th St. in the heart of downtown San Francisco.”
The L.O.V.E. Club is calling for all of you to join the Golden Gate University community in this celebration. Click on this link to head over to their registration page and register for the parade. The first 100 participants will receive a t-shirt with their lovely logo on it!
Now, some of you might have noticed a couple of changes on our website. With the arrival of summer, we though we would let the sunshine in a little bit. We’re pretty sure that those of you who live in the city of San Francisco will highly appreciate having a peek at the sun.
This is not the only change we have made within the last couple of weeks. One of the major changes was made on our Facebook group. We have launched our Facebook page about a week ago in order to gain some more exposure. We are converting our Facebook group to a discussion board so that you, Social Heads, can interact with each other and reach out to us.
In addition to above, we have started organizing a fun party that we are planning to host within a month, in hopes of meeting some of the new faces that recently joined the GGU Community and strengthening our bonds with the ones that we are already familiar with. We will be sharing more details about our party soon!
Before we move over to this week’s featured club, we would like to remind our readers once again that the Gaming Tournaments Questionnaire is still up and running. If you haven’t participated in the questionnaire yet, please do so below.
If you have no idea what this questionnaire is all about, you might want to read this.
GGU Social presents…
This week’s featured club is Golden Gate University’s Human Resources Association (HURA). Here’s how their description reads:
“Our mission is to be an extended student family and support current and Alumni students with Human Resource information and networking.
Our vision is to change the dynamics of recruiting for international students and an aim to support HR practitioners with a platform to share and review their ideas and thought processes.”
HURA’s president Mat (also the current president of SGA) was kind enough to share a couple of words with us as well. Here’s what he had to deliver to you, our beloved readers:
“HURA is a club for HR and other business majors to network, seek jobs and internships. We have posted close to 20 jobs till date and also had an employer come down to our campus for placement.
If you think this is the club you would like to be associated with reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.”
We hope you enjoyed reading this week’s #SocialWednesday. We thought we would take advantage of this quiet week at Golden Gate University to share some updates with you.
We are always checking our e-mails and we encourage you to e-mail us at email@example.com with any questions you may have as well as the events, photos and ideas you would like us to share with the community!
We are really appreciating the amount of views we have been receiving since the launch, and your feedback means the world to us! Please contribute in this brand new 4 question survey to let us know a little bit about your thoughts. You can also let us know what you think of GGU Social so far, and submit the topics and features you would like us to include by e-mailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org!
Until next week,
