We are nearing the end of this year’s Summer Term and things are starting to wind down on our campus. However, the calm will only last until the busiest term of the year starts on August 28th. While we’re excitingly waiting for the Fall Term to start, let’s talk about what’s happening on our campus this week.
News & Updates
SGA’s 2016-17 candidate registrations are still open!
If you’re looking to apply for SGA’s 2016-17 Elections, you have only two days left! The registrations will close on Friday, August 19th. You can access the registration form here.
For those who haven’t heard, we kicked off our month-long treasure hunt contest during our party on August 4th. Here’s what it’s all about:
- The image above was used to create 12 jigsaw puzzle pieces that will be posted around the campus in the process of this contest.
- A riddle will be posted on the digital signage screens on campus every Thursday with a weekly timer.
- Each riddle will lead to a location in which three jigsaw puzzle pieces are waiting to be found.
- The person to collect most pieces will win the grand prize which will be announced later in the month.
We have spotted a team of three students who are jointly working on finding all the puzzle pieces and it seems that they have all six pieces that we hid at both locations so far. If you want to catch up in the race, keep checking out our Facebook group and GGU App‘s Student Feed tomorrow for our next riddle.
Remember this bookshelf down in the Student Lounge? Our friends at the Business Library reported that they just put some more free textbooks for you down there. Please take them only if you’re really interested in or in need of them.
The new student orientations are set to take place on campus earlier next week. These orientations will mark a new beginning for tons of new faces who will start their next journey at Golden Gate University. We noticed that some of our new students are already in the know and reading GGU Social–some of them even attended to our party on August 4th, so we would like to take this chance to welcome all of our new readers and invite them to our Welcome Party on September 8th! We will reveal the details about our next party soon!
Events to keep an eye on
The Office of Career Planning’s monthly Online Networking Event is this Friday! You can access the event by clicking here. Guest representatives from Yellow Brick Road Financial Advisors will be joining them in this hour-long session. The event starts at 12:00 PM Pacific Time. This event will be the office’s last event for the term.
