Our friends at GISA (GGU Indian Student Association) held a beautiful Diwali celebration party last week on November 4th and tens of students, faculty and staff including our president David J. Fike joined them in their celebration.
There were many different–and delicious, might we add–Indian dishes and beverages served throughout the event alongside the traditional Indian music playing in the background. The event then featured a talent show and followed with a dance party. Some students have volunteered in helping the association serve food and beverages as well as applying henna on the participants’ hands.
The participation to this celebration showcased once again how much the GGU Community values appreciates diversity. We would like to take this chance to congratulate GISA on hosting such a colorful event! Our friends in the association told us that there will be another traditional celebration party in Spring ’17 Term. We will share the event date and details with you as soon as they finish planning it.
