A Call for Writers

On last week’s #SocialWednesday, we gave you a hint of what our next activity is going to be. It appears that some of our readers were expecting another hike, which is also in the works; however, we wanted to do something different this time around.

Since the first day we first launched our blog, we promised to live by our motto “by students, for students,” and this week, we invite you to submit your blog post to have them featured on GGU Social!

GGU Social has been providing Golden Gate University students with entertainment, news, and campus updates on a weekly basis, with a total unique reader count of almost 3,000 over the past year! To give back to our readers, we decided to give you a chance to showcase your writing skills by having your blog featured on our website to gain more exposure and expand your network!

To submit your post, you will need to go to our Google Form here, and e-mail your submission to us at ggusocial@ggu.edu!

We are looking forward to read your submissions, and very excited to promote your work within the community we created!

News & Updates

We gave away one of the three t-shirts as a part of our anniversary raffle, and we still have yet to hear from Ramin or Parminder. If you’re one of the two, and reading this, please contact us at ggusocial@ggu.edu to claim your t-shirts! 🙂

Our friends at SGA opened up their annual survey to gather feedback from the students regarding the services they provide. The team will give away an Apple watch and two Fitbits this year; if you contribute in the survey today, you will get a chance to win one of the three prizes! At Golden Gate University, we appreciate diversity! Our friends at Student Life have put together a workshop to gather around and talk about culture shock, understand it, and discuss the ways in which we can overcome it. We invite all of you to stop by and join the conversation on tomorrow!

Office of Career Planning is bringing Heidi Newiger from AppDynamics to present you her Resume Workshop on February 7th, 5:00 – 6:00PM. The workshop will take place in Room 5221.

Wellness Resources’ Mind Management Labs are back! If you would like to learn tips and tricks on stress and mind management, you can stop by Room 5206 on Mondays and Thursdays to benefit from Mind Management Labs. These workshops do not require any RSVPs or commitment.

Speaking of wellness, the department is also offering free guided meditation to all students every Thursday in Room 4208, from 5:30 to 6:30PM throughout the entire Spring Term. Stop by, reduce your stress and increase your peace.

*The event is a drop-in, and you can attend all or just part of the meditation.
