This week marks a new beginning for many new faces that just joined our colorful community. We would like to start off this week’s #SocialWednesday by welcoming all of our new and returning students. We don’t like to brag, but believe us when we say this: we’ve got a lot of fun stuff coming your way, Social Heads. We will unveil many of our plans in the coming weeks, but until then, keep on checking on GGU Social!
Some of you might be new to this concept we have featured on GGUSocial.com, so let us help you navigate at our blog-site:
At GGU Social, we post weekly updates on Wednesdays that we like to call #SocialWednesday posts. These posts feature campus news and upcoming events; announcements and stories from students, faculty, staff, and student clubs. Also, to amuse our readers, we are featuring #SmarterEverySunday posts that are solely focused on entertainment. We took a break from posting our Sunday posts, but we’re happy to report that they will make their return soon!
To make browsing easy and fun for our readers, we created a Categories Page which lets you choose one of the most visited categories on our page. You can also view all of the #SocialWednesday posts that have been posted to date here and #SmarterEverySunday posts here.
If you have any suggestions or questions about what we do, feel free to e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org! You can also just want to say “hi!”–we encourage any form of communication in this community! Also, make sure to join our Facebook Group where you can make friends and contact your fellow Social Heads!
Now that you know how to browse on GGU Social, let’s move onto the next section of our #SocialWednesday post and look at this week’s News & Updates!
News & Updates
The Office of Student Affairs has put together a 5-day long workshop series called Student Success Week: Toolkit where you can get to know the GGU community better and understand the benefits of being involved in it. These series are mandatory for our international students, and we highly suggest you to attend to all of the sessions to get to know the key individuals at various departments and get yourself familiarized with the GGU Community. The series start on May 8th and you can find the full schedule below.
Speaking of the Office of Student Affairs team, they have put together a video that does a great job at capturing the sensation of the student life at Golden Gate University. If you would like to learn what the Office of Student Affairs does to full extent and meet the faces that are always here for you, make sure to watch the 4.5 minute mini-documentary above!
If you are new on campus, let us introduce you to our SGA team! The team is encouraging all students to share their thoughts, feelings and ideas about the student life at Golden Gate University! If you haven’t met the team and are interested in contacting them, feel free to reach out to them at their e-mail addresses shown in the image above.
Events to keep an eye on
The Office of Career Planning has already kicked-off the Summer ’17 Term. While you may have missed their first two events, we advise you to keep an eye on their upcoming workshops. Their next event, Master E-mail Networking will take place on May 9th.
Our Student Life department is offering free guided meditation to all students every Thursday in Room 4208, from 5:30 to 6:30PM throughout the entire Summer ’17 Term. Stop by, reduce your stress and increase your peace.
*The event is a drop-in, and you can attend all or just part of the meditation.
