In this week’s #SocialWednesday, we continue delivering the special messages our friends at SGA shared with us. If you have missed the earlier messages that we shared as a part of From SGA to You you can follow the links below to read them.
If you’re interested in submitting your SGA candidate application, you can fill out and submit the application form by clicking here. The extended deadline to submit candidate applications is August 14th and voting will start on August 18th.
Now let’s move onto this week’s featured message from Abhishek Prasad, VP of Education and Secretary. Here’s what Abhishek had to deliver to our readers:
“Student Government Association is a great way to represent your interests and ensure the student voice is heard. I would like to thank GGU for giving me an opportunity to represent the students. I had a great platform to be the student’s voice and support them during their journey at GGU.
This position helped me to network and build contacts. Fortunately, I got a chance to be part of Faculty meetings which helped me to understand the decision-making process in the organization as well as present students concerns to the senate. I got a chance to enhance my leadership qualities and organizational skills. Being an international student, I learned to interact with diverse people within and outside the organization.
When I look back, I am confident as an individual and have immensely improved my management and communication skills. I would recommend all the students to leverage this opportunity. It is an excellent learning opportunity and a life changing experience.“

Remember our Student Club Introductions? We had to delay the introduction for our friends at Project Management Club (PMC) due to heavy amount of content we’ve been channeling lately. PMC has joined the GGU family last spring, and they are a group of highly motivated students that aim to provide GGU students with the resources to share knowledge and experiences as well as to build (project) management skills through professional development and networking opportunities with industry leaders.
Here’s how Meliana Hakim, the President of PMC wanted to share with our readers:
“Earlier in July, we held our first Guest Speaker event with six panelists from the Project Management Institute (PMI) SF Bay Area and Wine Country, to talk about their education, background, and skills. They also offered a lot of volunteer opportunities, in which many of our members were excited about and interested to sign up. This is such a great way to connect with professional leaders and gain expertise on multiple fields. On top of that, we have great food and drinks, and networking sessions – everyone had fun!
If you are interested to join our club, we welcome you to reach us at GGUPMClub@gmail.com. All students, not only project management major, are welcome to join the PMC. We hope to see you in future events!”
