Goodbye and Hello!

Boat Sunset Pic

And so this is it. My final blog for ggusocial and it’s a tough one. It has been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be your voice, to write posts that I hope you can connect with and to meet so many fantastic students, staff and faculty. It’s been a joy to meet so many of you and this job’s been made easier by the generosity of so many of you.  You’ve gladly given your time  for interviews, provided me with ideas for content and organized events that I’ve been able to cover for the blog.  Ggu social is about you. It’s by the students and for the students. It’s our voice, yours and mine, independent from the university and its content reflects us, our interests, concerns and lives as we take this extraordinary journey together here in San Francisco.

But now it’s my time to move on, and I’m very happy to be passing the ggusocial baton to a very safe pair of hands. I’m thrilled to announce that Hafeez Kanani will be taking over as your new Editor. I know that he will work hard to continue to keep you informed and represent the student community in his writing. I look forward to reading his content and wish him nothing but the best for the future! Goodbye, good luck, work hard and enjoy every minute of your GGU experience!

And now, let’s hear from Hafeez…

Hello everyone! My name is Hafeez Kanani, and I will be your next GGU Social editor. I am incredibly excited and honored to take on this role.

As way of introduction, I will tell you a bit about myself. I am from an East African country called Tanzania – the home of the Serengeti and Mount Kilimanjaro (only the highest free-standing mountain in the world). My professional background is in supply chain and logistics. I am also an entrepreneur, having started businesses in BBQ catering, hospitality and construction.

At GGU I am pursuing an MBA with a focus in leadership. I currently live in Berkley where I get the best views of the Bay. In my spare time, I love to cook and bake and of course eat everything I make. Also, I enjoy hiking, camping, and woodworking – really anything that involves using my hands and being outdoors.

I am looking forward to connecting with our community and creating a great experience for everyone at GGU.
