A very warm welcome to all the new students joining us this term, and of course, to our current students, welcome back! I hope that everyone is well and staying safe. We realize that the past few weeks have been uncertain and maybe a little strange. Fortunately, at GGU we have an incredible and supportive community to help us get through these challenging times. To all the new students we hope that you enjoyed the greeting from our president Dr David Fike. Also, we hope the information from Kayla was useful about student services, the GGU Experience and of course our myGGU platform.
As you are all probably aware, classes this term have been modified to being completely online. This means we are all going to become Zoom Pros, to master the art of a different kind of long-distance relationship – online learning! I know that all of our professors are doing their best and are incredibly flexible, adapting to this new and evolving method of learning and from my experience, I have found that our professors are always happy to hear from us. My advice: when you have any concerns or questions, get in touch with your professors as soon as possible. I have found that it’s always helpful to ask when I am unsure about something, and it shows great initiative. I hope everyone is as pumped as I am to start off the new term!
Also, a quick reminder, don’t forget to check out our weekly photo challenges on our Instagram page @ggusocial. Last week we saw lovely photos from all around the Bay Area. This week our theme is going to be food! We can’t wait to see all the delicious meals everyone is making while sheltering in place. Let us know in the comments below or DM us on Instagram for new challenge suggestions.
As we begin the new semester this is also a new edition of GGU Social. My main goals are to write about topics that we can all relate to as students, to encourage more sharing of personal stories and pictures of our experiences as we go through this journey together at GGU!
We would love to hear from you in the comments section below with any questions or concerns and we will do our best to point you in the right direction. Stay safe and stay healthy. See you next week!
